How to Remove Dead Bugs From Your Car Easily Without Scrubbing with Jax Wax BugZapper

Click on the Video below:

Jax Wax BugZapper is designed to be used while washing your vehicle and makes removing bugs easy.

Simply wet the surface, and spray the surface where dead bugs are with Jax Wax BugZapper.  Let the product dwell for 30 seconds or so.  Then wash as normal.  Bugs are gone.

Bugs are acidic and if not removed in a timely manner, can etch and eat away at your vehicle's clear coat and ruin the finish.  It is highly recommended that you remove bugs prior to waxing your vehicle, as they will become harder to remove.

Jax Wax BugZapper is not a harsh solvent and is safe for all finishes, including glass, chrome, plastic and paint.

This is the same product that is used by commercial car washes, car dealers, auto auctions, body shops and professional detailers.  Now you can get commercial quality results by doing the work yourself.

How to Remove Swirl Marks on Paint with Jax Wax Swirl Remover and a Flex Random Orbital Polisher

Click on the Video below:

How to Remove Swirl Marks on Paint with Jax Wax Swirl Remover and a Flex Random Orbital Polisher

Swirl Marks are really fine scratches, especially noticeable on black or dark colored paint finishes. There are only two ways to reduce their appearance:

1.)  Fill them in with a product, but as the product wears off, they are still there.
or
2.)  The best way,  polish them out and remove them.

Jax Wax Swirl Remover can be used either way.

In this video, Jax Wax Swirl Remover is used with a Flex Orbital Polisher to remove swirls without damaging the finish. Using an orbital polisher/buffer reduces the chances of harming the finish and enables even a novice to safely produce a professional finish free of swirls and holograms producing a mirror-like finish.

Jax Wax Swirl Remover is also a premium grade carnauba wax, combining polishing and waxing into one step, cutting your time in half.

Jax Wax Swirl Remover works excellent to remove Water Spots that are "etched" into your finish and even on glass surfaces.

Other than leaving a brilliant high gloss, Jax Wax Swirl Remover provides superior protection and durability, and is safe for all multi-stage and clear coat finishes, chrome and glass surfaces. Jax Wax Swirl Remover works equally well when applying by hand or with a buffer.

Now you can get fast, commercial-quality results by using the same products the "pros" do - and by doing it yourself!

Getting Your Old Tires to Shine Again by Jack Payton

Clean and Dressed Tires Effect a Car's Appearance by Jax Wax
It doesn't matter how many miles your vehicle has on it; you want it to look nice.

And few things make an older vehicle look sharper than having tires that sparkle with that "like-new" shine.

With proper maintenance, the right products and a little elbow grease, you can have your tires looking like they just rolled off the showroom floor.

And sprucing up your tires for maximum glisten can have benefits beyond mere aesthetics.  Apply the right tire dressing product and you’ll not only give your tires that perfect look, but you’ll also be extending the life of your vehicle, which saves you money and helps reduce the environmental impact of discarded tires, as well.

Knowing how to clean and dress your tires will give them the sharp black visuals you crave and also block UV-ray exposure, protecting the tires from cracking and the sidewalls from being chipped away by the sun’s powerful beams.

But first things first, if you want your tires to shine and be protected, the first thing you have to do is wash them.  And I’m not talking about spraying them down with the hose; you’re going to have to exert some energy to do the type of washing that will enable you to get the most out of the tire dressing you are going to apply.  Even new tires should be washed prior to dressing them.

Naturally, tires collect a whole host of dirt and grime on them as they roll from place to place.  These pollutants work their way deep into the tire’s pores, and simply spraying them off (even with a pressure washer) isn’t going to clean them effectively.  And you’ll need to get rid of dirt and grime completely if you want your shine application to be perfect.

I recommend using a citrus based cleaning and degreasing product or similar all-purpose cleaner, which is applied in advance and allowed to pre-soak for a few minutes.

Once this has been done, take a stiff bristled brush, agitate the surface which will remove the dirt and particles from deep within the tire.

Cleaning Wheels with a Wheel Brush by Jax Wax

Now is also a good time to clean your wheels. You can use a brush to get deep inside the wheel, into the outside face of the wheel and back into the spokes.

This part of the job can seem like a lot of work – and it is – but detailing automobiles is a painstaking process, but oh-so worth it in the end.

Once your tires are good and clean – free from all the dirt and grime that tires inevitably collect – it’s time to apply the tire dressing that will simultaneously give them that renewed look and protect them from damage caused by the big bad sun.

The application method will vary depending on the product that you use, and it is important to follow the instructions because applying too much or too little can diminish the effectiveness, particularly from an appearances point-of-view.

Let’s be honest here: tires are meant to get dirty.  That’s their job.  However, every now and then you want your entire automobile to radiate a sparkling shimmer, and having the right tools, knowledge and detailing product on hand can really make the difference when you are trying to buff up a set of older tires.

Jax Wax Customer Spotlight: 1949 Overland-Willys Jeepster Daily Driver

There is NEVER a dull day at Jax Wax.  You never know who you will meet or what will happen on any given day.  It really makes it fun and sometimes takes you totally by surprise!  Today was one of those days and we just have to share it with you.

Most people hate Mondays - not us!  So, I am on the way to the shop this morning.  A fellow calls me on my cell phone:
"Hello?  I'd like to stop by and and pick up 4 gallons of Shine All for my buddy in Florida, I am on my way driving down there.  Can I stop by and pick some up?"
So I give him directions to the shop. He shows up and guess what he is driving from northern Ohio all the way to to New Smyrna Beach, FL?  Here it is:
Rich Duecker and his 1949 Jeepster at Jax Wax in February
A 1949 Willys-Overland Jeepster!  In Ohio in February you don't see people driving classic cars or hot rods - they are usually put away for the winter.  You surely don't see any people drive their classic cars all the way from Ohio to Florida!

Rich built this Jeepster not for show - but to drive!  It has a small block Chevy mated to a 700R4 transmission, and Rich figures he gets about 20 miles per gallon on the highway.  It handles nicely on the road due to the Fatman Mustang II front suspension and power disk brakes.  Rich has been building stock cars and drag race cars for years and does all the work himself.  How cool is that?

Here are some pics we snapped of the Jeepster:

The Jeepster Sports Chrome Traction Bars!

Of course after Rich spotted some of Jack's race cars in the shop, the conversation turned to racing.

Rich has been drag racing and stock car racing for years.  In fact he used to stock car race with with the likes of  Mark Martin and Tony Stewart back in the day.  He also shared some stories about his Willys Hemi-Powered race car.  Rich still races it from time to time and it runs in the 8's.  He told us it is an handful with the short wheelbase and high center of gravity.

He happened to have a picture of it:
Rich's Willys Drag Race Car
It was too cool to meet Rich today and to be able to hear the stories he has!  If you see Rich on the road or at the race track, take some some to chat with him.  You will be glad you did!

Never a dull day at Jax Wax!

Two Trips of 1054 Miles to Get A Car Buffed Out and Worth The Trip: Harvey's Classic Cars and Restorations

I got a phone call one day from Jim our Jax Wax distributor in the Chicago area.   As usual, he had an order for some product and wanted to meet for delivery.  I looked forward to seeing him and we both wanted to finalize our plans for the upcoming show season.

Come to find out, he was heading down to Alabama to get his car buffed out and get a few things touched up.   My curiosity got the best of me.  I am thinking that is a 1054 mile round trip!  “You are going all the way to Alabama to get the car buffed out?”
“Yeah” he said.  “I’m dropping it off,  they are going to buff it out.  When they restored the car, they guaranteed the paint for life, and I want to get a few minor things fixed while it’s there.  I am going back to pick it up in a couple of weeks.”
Now you have to understand how Jim approaches things – there is no “half-way” when he does anything.

1969 Camaro Jax Wax Distributor Jim Eskridge
For example, when he was drag racing, he made a living doing it accumulating 26 NHRA Wally trophies.  An avid hunter, he travels to Africa and bags trophy lions, hippos and cape buffalo.   He is that kind of guy that when he decides to do something, he is “all in” with the full zest and commitment that many of us can only dream about.

His 1969 Camaro is no exception, exceptionally restored to the finest detail.
I am thinking “I have got to meet these people.  If Jim says they are the best, they are.”  So I decide to take the trip with Jim and share the driving.
Jax Wax arrives at Harvey's Classics and Restorations
After we arrived at Harvey's Classic Cars and Restorations I got a chance to meet David and Justin Harvey, and I could see why Jim made the drive.

They are a father and son team.  Justin's forte is bodywork and paint while his father David focuses on the mechanical aspects of the restorations.

Justin from Harvey's Classic Cars and Restorations

Before we headed out, Jim left an assortment of some Jax Wax products including some polish and compounds for them to check out.

A few weeks go by and Jim needs another product order and he is going back down to pick the car up.  I meet him and make the journey back to Athens, anxious to see how the car turned out.

We got delayed for four hours in Tennessee on the way down due to an ice storm but made it in fine shape.   When we arrived, the car was done.
The "Tuxedo Black" lacquer paint on the Camaro looked like glass.   Come to find out, Justin had used the Jax Wax products to buff out the car.
Jax Wax mirror shine from Foam Pad Polish

“I really like those products” Justin said.

“You don’t have anyone down this way selling them, do you?   We would be interested.”

I am thinking that this is one of the highest compliments we have gotten about the quality of our products.  David and Justin Harvey do one the highest quality of restorations that I have seen and only use the best tools, parts and products.

Now after meeting them the second time and getting to know them better, they shared more of their portfolio of restorations and I got to see another project in the shop first hand.

Their passion and pride in their work shows in the results of the restorations.

If I had a car that I needed to restore, they would be my first phone call.

Make the trip to Athens, Alabama – you will be glad you did.  You can see more of their work at www.harveysclassic.com
